Religious thoughts fail, especially the old ones. I would not say it is exact discoveries by science, but because of clear questions asked by science.

Role of self, purpose of universe, purpose of my life etc...all these become simple explanation if one looks at them from clarity in questioning by science.

First, there is no real purpose of world or me in it. It's a random creation without nay purpose. Our consciousness creates experience and also a unique ability to think about our thinking. Consciousness makes problme of self look mysterious. Self just hapoends to be developed without a real role as it seems. So don't ponder much about purpose or god or self.all it is useless. It's random life...knowing it creates liberation. It's not pessimistic at all. I see it as very positive with no burden of purpose, god, self or over imphasised role of myself in this universe. It is just irrelevant. This clarity doesn't contradict with morality. Indeed it supports ethical and moral way of living because you see everyonr as same, suffering because of consciousness and it's generated experience. You relate to common values.
